About
I am Captain Ed Casazza. I have been around boats as long as I can remember, starting with rowboats to canoes and kayaks and sailing dinghies. In 1979 I bought an O-Day 22 sailboat and sailed it out of Boston Harbor. In 1980 I brought the same boat up to the Merrimack River and sailed it out of Newburyport for the next 15 years. With this boat I sailed to Isles of Shoals, Rockport, Portsmouth, and out to Provincetown. As my family grew I moved up to an O-Day 27 and expanded my adventures into Maine and Georges Banks.
I have made three passages to the Bahamas and have sailed to Bermuda and Nova Scotia. These days I sail my 31 Southern Cross between Maine and Narragansett Bay. I also teach for the Boston Harbor Sailing Club. Since retiring from Gillette Co. in May 2005, I have focused on sharing my passion for sailing. When I am not sailing I can be found playing my guitar in Newburyport at the Grog Restaurant Wednesdays from 8 P.M. to 11 P.M. www.TheGrog.com. I also fly fish and float tube when I'm not out on the open seas.

"I was pretty unsure about sailing, and was anxious before I got on board Captain Ed's boat. He taught us how to deal with problems before they come up and always made us feel at ease and confident. Thanks Captain Ed!"
